Hi, I’m Ari Saperstein, a photojournalist and student at Michigan State University. What I love most about photojournalism is getting to know people and the communities I photograph. I love being able to spend time with people, learn about what matters to them, and document the moments that make their communities unique.
For me, photography has always been about people. Some of my favorite photographs come from simply being present, listening, and waiting for the small moments that say something bigger about a person or a place. Whether I’m covering a community event, sports, breaking news, or spending time on a longer story, I try to make photographs that feel honest and show what it was like to actually be there.
I’m currently studying at Michigan State University and continuing to grow as a photojournalist. I’m always excited to meet new people, explore new communities, and find new stories to tell.
